Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an HVAC Manager based in La Porte, IN. The HVAC Manager will oversee HVAC operations, ensure customer satisfaction, manage service delivery, and lead a skilled team of technicians. The role includes coordinating schedules, maintaining quality standards, supporting sales efforts, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Manages and develops the service staff, which includes assisting in hiring, terminating, and disciplining of employees, scheduling employees, evaluating performance, and directing work assignments to ensure effective productions
- Coordinated activities of the maintenance, service, and indoor air quality departments to effect operational efficiency; uses system generated and locally produced reports to monitor field performance and identify areas for improvement
- Resolves customer issues and complaints to ensure customer satisfaction
- Collaborates with the general manager on creating and managing budget
- Generated reports and measures of departmental operations as well as records on all inventory, tools, and vehicles
- Reviews reports with management
- Instructs crews on proper use of materials and quality workmanship
- Reviews payroll records to ensure that technicians are paid properly
- Communicated with dispatchers to ensure appropriate technicians for types of service
- Evaluates staff to determine training requirements
- Ensures that company vehicles are properly stocked, that defective warranty parts are returned to the branch and that vehicle standard stock is ordered and replenished as needed
- Additional related duties as assigned/needed by branch/general manager
Qualifications
• Must be able to lift and maneuver equipment up to 75 lbs.
• Must be able to crawl, climb, kneel, squat, bend and reach overhead
• Must be able to climb and work on ladders
• Must be able to use hand and power tools
• High school diploma or GED are required
• 3+ years management experience
• A working knowledge of plumbing and HVAC are required
• Valid driver's license is required
• Strong supervisory experience, communication and computer skills are required
• Ability to work after regular business hours as needed
