We are seeking an Energy Monitoring Hardware Technician
The Energy Monitoring Hardware Technician supports the broader Energy Management program in delivering high quality energy monitoring equipment and data transmission support services for our customers. In this role, the Technician will correspond with our customers and their utilities regarding a broad range of responsibilities including, utility meter pulse signal requests, monitoring equipment installations, commissioning and troubleshooting of non-operational equipment. It is essential that this person must be able to think outside the box when troubleshooting system monitoring. This position will also be responsible for data logging equipment programming and testing, equipment assembly tasks which require well developed task tracking skills, word processing, and basic manufacturing skills, including drilling, taping, mounting and general configuration of internal parts.

What You Will Be Doing:
- Correspond with and track responses from customers and utilities regarding the energy monitoring hardware, communication signals, installation and upgrades.
- Track and manage communications and interactions with customers and internal Cascadian’s within the Cascade systems. (ASANA, OneNote, Sharepoint)
- Review energy monitoring equipment status reports and work with the internal/external customers to open technical support tickets and initiate response protocols.
- Perform equipment programming, and functionality testing of data loggers and monitoring equipment prior to shipment.
- Assemble energy monitoring system enclosures using basic manufacturing skills, including drilling and taping steel backing plates, mounting components, and configuring the equipment.
- Follow, update and maintain energy monitoring system records, SOPs, and equipment documentation.
- Perform monitoring component inventory management; Purchase orders, receiving-stocking inventory, updating component part numbers and managing defective components.
- Remotely perform facility energy monitoring system requirements scoping to identify monitoring hardware and installation requirements.
- Package, label, notify and coordinate shipments of energy monitoring & data logging equipment to customers according to the schedule.
- Perform trouble shooting and provide resolution support to the customer for the monitoring equipment, monitoring data accuracy and data gaps.
- Provide remote support for energy monitoring system installations, commissioning , trouble shooting and decommissioning.
- Perform cellular service management support for the cellular modems, and associated data transmission plans.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position located onsite in Portland Oregon. You will need to be physically at our downtown Portland office 1- 5 days per week.
Minimal travel is anticipated for this role.
Qualifications
Applicants for this role are required to have:
- Foundational understanding and application of MS software (Excel and Word)
- Solid basic math skills
- Assembly skills to achieve a highly finished end product.
- Prior customer service experience.
- Ability to quickly learn and utilize custom software platforms.
- Able to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
- Be proactive, resourceful and highly motivated with good communication skills and ability to achieve results.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy of work performed.
A successful candidate should also demonstrate these preferred characteristics and/or skills:
- General knowledge of standard electrical practices, including low and control voltage wiring and safety training.
- Familiar with SharePoint, OneNote, Asana, SharePoint workflows, and Visio not required but a plus.
- Associate degree or trades training or experience preferred.
- A basic understanding of cellular communications and telemetry is recommended.
- A background in low or control voltage communication and entertainment system installation is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits
Our total rewards include competitive pay and excellent benefits. The salary range for this non-exempt position in Portland Oregon is $21.49 - $26.30/hour.However, final salary offered may vary depending on non-discriminatory factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experiences, and geographical location if different than the above.
