Temporary 3rd Shift Spice/Prep I

Position lasts up to 90 days

Hours are 11pm-7:30am

Pay is $18.44/hour plus a $3/hour shift premium

Basic Purpose and Scope:

The Spice/Prep I position prepares raw ingredients and spice needed for scheduled production

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Perform all job duties and operations in a safe manner, while following all federal, state, and Litehouse regulations and policies - Always
Weigh ingredients and spice according to recipes - 75%
May operate a forklift to retrieve supplies from, dry storage, cooler or freezer - 20%
Utilize data collection system to maintain inventory accuracy and traceability, utilize scanner to use oldest ingredients first (FIFO) - 5%
Responsibility to adhere to Food Safety policies and report food safety and quality concerns to their supervisor - Ongoing
Work closely with Coordinator to determine jobs needed for each shift - Ongoing
Ensure products produced meet customer and quality requirements - Ongoing
Maintain ingredient and spice code records and usage - Ongoing
Maintains clean work area and participates in housekeeping throughout the facility and grounds - Ongoing
Must be able to frequently work overtime and weekends as necessary - Ongoing
Must be able to work scheduled shifts and meet attendance requirements - Ongoing
Other activities and duties as assigned - Ongoing

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED TO PERFORM WORK:

Education: High School Diploma/GED Strongly Preferred
Certifications: None
Experience: None
Must have strong verbal and written communications skills with ability to express ideas professionally, effectively and efficiently in the common language
Ability to establish & maintain effective working relationships with all contacts inside and outside of the company with strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Ability to multi-task, focus and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Ability to read and interpret weights and measures and perform basic mathematical calculations

Lifting requirement: Frequently; up to 55 lbs. Over 55 lbs. must be with two or more individuals or with mechanical aides (hoist, dolly cart, forklift)

Use of upper/lower extremities: Frequently required to stand for long periods of time: use hands to finger, handle, or feel: reach with hands and arms

Frequently required to climb or balance, talk or hear, and taste or smell

Occasionally required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
