We are seeking an
Electrical Engineer to join our Industrial market sector. This position is responsible for leading the electrical design on a variety of projects, managing project schedules, budgets, and teams, and ensuring the highest quality of work is maintained. This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, engage in innovative problem-solving, and contribute to the advancement of the built environment. This role is located in Austin, Texas and has a flexible hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise in the design, analysis, and evaluation of electrical systems for building projects, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems
- Lead and manage multiple complex projects concurrently, from initiation through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the client's satisfaction
- Oversee all phases of the project cycle, including finalizing scope of projects, preparing bid summaries, and compiling project budgets and cost estimates
- Monitor project financial performance, track expenses, and implement cost-control measures to maximize profitability
- Manage work-in-process, billings, and outstanding accounts receivable collection efforts using Ajera software
- Serve as point of contact for clients, architects, subcontracts, and design teams, maintaining strong relationships and clear communication
- Collaborate with mechanical, architectural, and structural teams to ensure electrical systems are seamlessly integrated with all other aspects of building designs
- Attend project site visits and meetings as needed for project development, design reviews, and construction administration
- Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to create detailed drawings, layouts, and schematics for various electrical systems
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes, standards, and regulations throughout the design process, obtaining necessary approvals and permits as required
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field from an ABET accredited university
- Professional Engineer License in Texas
- Significant experience in electrical engineering within the MEP industry, with a proven track record of successful project management
- Comprehensive understanding of electrical systems design principles and methodologies, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low voltage systems
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to develop project plans, establish milestones, allocate resources, and monitor progress to ensure successful project delivery
- Knowledge of electrical practices and standards, including but not limited to NEC, NFPA, IESNA, IECC, and IEEE regulations
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit with a demonstrable track record of producing high-quality electrical drawings and models
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, team members, and stakeholders at all levels
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize competing demands effectively
