Job Summary
The Accounting Manager at AET will oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, manage the preparation of financial reports, and ensure that all financial transactions comply with legal and company regulations. This position plays a crucial role in supporting strategic financial planning and decision-making.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including accounts payable, general ledger, payroll, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, trust account statement reconciliations, check runs, fixed asset activity, debt activity, etc.
- Oversee the integrity of general ledger entries and payroll processing, ensuring compliance with financial policies and regulatory requirements.
- Develop accurate cash flow projections to assist in financial planning and liquidity management, adjusting forecasts based on current business trends and projections.
- Conduct detailed revenue and expenditure variance analysis to identify deviations from budget and underlying causes, facilitating strategic adjustments.
- Monitor all financial transactions, ensuring they are recorded correctly and align with internal protocols.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and other applicable standards.
- Generate detailed reports for management that provide insights into the organization's financial status, highlighting trends and potential areas of concern.
- Utilize advanced data analysis techniques to interpret complex financial data, providing actionable insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Lead the preparation and coordination of internal and external audits, acting as the primary contact for auditors and ensuring that all necessary information is readily available.
- Stay updated on new financial regulations and standards, adapting internal policies as necessary to maintain compliance.
- Evaluate and implement new financial software and technologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Continuously seek to improve financial processes and workflows, identifying inefficiencies and recommending solutions.
- Direct and supervise accounting staff, fostering a collaborative team environment, and encouraging continuous professional development.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance staff competencies in financial management and software utilization.
- Ensure all financial documents are systematically managed and securely stored, with easy access for audits and reviews.
- Maintain meticulous records of all financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness for future reference.
Supervisory Responsibility
Supervisory responsibilities over the accounting department staff.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in accounting and financial management practices, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

- Knowledge of MS Dynamics, and ADP software preferred.

Work Environment
This job primarily operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. This position will occasionally be required to operate in a field environment.
