Brown and Caldwell has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Client Service Manager who will have an essential role in the growth of our Vancouver, British Columbia office. Brown and Caldwell has been creating leading-edge wastewater treatment solutions for clients around Vancouver since the 1970s. In collaboration with the Municipal Operations Manager, Area Growth Leader, Area Marketing Manager, and Area Practice Leaders, you will maintain and develop client relationships, connect Brown and Caldwell solutions to client needs, lead project teams in quality project delivery, and guide procurement stages leading to new opportunities.
Brown and Caldwell has an established presence in the Metro Vancouver area in the stormwater and wastewater treatment practices and is poised for growth into new opportunities. The Vancouver Region is a thriving/growing area demanding differentiating client service, sustainable and innovative solutions, and effective collaboration with our technical service providers and client contacts.
This position will serve as a key leadership team member in supporting our existing clients and executing our growth plans for the Lower Mainland, British Columbia, and beyond. In this capacity you will have responsibilities that include overseeing the sales, client development, client relationship management, project delivery, contract scope, schedule, and price preparation, and client service team leadership. You will demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with other leaders in the best interest of our company. You will also foster the Brown and Caldwell experience for the clients and business partners in the markets in which you engage, by modeling behavior that reflects our values.
Detailed Description:
- Develops high-value client relationships, while representing Brown and Caldwell with key clients and teaming partners.
- Engages and cultivates client service teams to support understanding and delivering on client needs and expectations.
- Creates client engagement strategies and pursuit plans, actively leading in key opportunity proposal strategy, positioning, teaming, messaging and interview development.
- Work with business leaders to develop, communicate, and deliver client focused business plans that supports overall company objectives.
- Serves as project manager or senior technical resource for key clients. Manage multi-disciplinary resources to deliver projects on schedule and budget and according to client critical success factors.
- Manage projects and risks to Brown and Caldwell’s standards, using our tools and templates for project delivery.
- Ensures quality client services, clarity on work products, and delivery of high-quality services within budget and schedule constraints.
- Work closely with the Project Delivery team to drive “on plan” project delivery for the Business
- Utilizes internal systems for communication, tracking and collaboration on projects and opportunities.
- Supports development of staff members, especially as it relates to exceptional client service delivery, strategic planning, and effective communication.
- Supervises and mentors junior staff members.
- Meets identified performance metrics including annual sales goals, project budgets and schedules.
- Leverages resources, experience and skills of the firm to support client goals.
- Participates in professional societies, creating connections for BC and technical professionals in support of client goals.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- B.S. degree in related engineering field (Civil, Environmental etc.) required; M.S. degree in related engineering field with a focus on wastewater and water services preferred.
- Professional Engineer registration in British Columbia.
- Proven ability to recruit top talent
- Work experience and knowledge of the Vancouver region’s stormwater, water and wastewater infrastructure.
- A minimum of 15 years’ experience in consulting and engineering services in the environmental sector with progressive responsibilities including business development and project delivery especially for water and wastewater municipal clients.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients, lead strong project teams meeting project requirements, and provide strong business growth results in management roles.
- Proven track record of successfully managing projects and delivering on time and on budget while meeting or exceeding client expectations.
- Proven understanding of environmental and regulatory drivers for clients and projects.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resources allocation, leadership techniques and coordination of people and resources.
- Proven ability to supervise and mentor younger staff as they grow.
- Proven technical skills with the ability to articulate ideas and concepts both visually and contextually are required.
- Ability to motivate others and lead teams to implement plans for projects and client pursuits.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record required
Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Location A: $176,000 - $241,000 CAD
