Wages: $34.99 – $43.44 (based on qualifications)
Job Title: Plant Mechanic, 2nd Class
Principle Duties:
- Ascertain that equipment is running efficiently and producing quality products and packages
- Repair and maintain any and all equipment and systems as required
- Perform preventative maintenance on plant & warehouse equipment, machinery, and systems as required
- Must cooperate with the equipment operators and other plant, warehouse, and maintenance employees
- Is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the equipment on which he works and the safety of those operating it
- Other duties as assigned by management
- Will be required to relieve as the manager deems necessary
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years maintenance experience in a high speed machinery environment (preferably dairy)
- Previously worked with the principals of mechanical (hydraulic and air) and electrical machines
- Knowledge in refrigeration machinery / equipment
- Prior experience of ammonia refrigeration a plus
- Knowledge of boiler operation and mechanics
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
- Perform the following physical behaviors repetitively throughout a shift: standing, walking, handling, reaching horizontally, reaching above the shoulder, reaching below waist, grasping firmly, pushing buttons, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, kneeling, pulling and pushing
- Push/pull a manual pallet fork truck, up to 1000 ponds and/or ability to operate an electric fork truck
- Ability to work in cold and damp environments
- Climb ladders of varying heights and perform various functions while on the ladder
- Ability to withstand noisy environments
- Possess and maintain a valid drivers’ license
