Position overview
The accounting clerk is responsible for providing administrative support to the Accounts Payable and Accounting department to ensure timely correspondence with external and internal customers.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage 7 email inboxes for Accounts Payable processing
- Obtains vendor statements and reconciles open payables with their open receivable statement
- Generate reports for internal teams and/or external clients
- Assist in organizing and submitting document packages
- Support a high level of service to the accounting department to resolve open items
- Perform office clerical duties and functions that are but not limited to filing, copying, scanning, faxing, distributing mail, creating forms/flyers, and any other related matters in a timely manner
- Performing other routine and administrative accounting procedures
- Communicates with department and vendors to clear problems that arise after statement review
- Organizes and maintains A/P records
- Assists the Accounts Payable department with A/P accrual at month end
- Assists with audits, both internal and external, by handling all accounts payable and some accounting related requests
- Assign Accounting Help Desk Tickets to accounting Team
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Education and Experience
- A minimum of 1-2 years’ accounts payable -accounting experience
- High School Diploma at a minimum, Associates degree in Accounting a plus
- High Volume environment
- Experience with Microsoft software such as Word, and Excel
Work Environment
- Works normal business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday most of the time.
- Extends working hours into evenings and weekends during seasonal busy times.
- Spends time in a climate controlled office setting looking a computer screens and keyboarding.
- Attends budget meetings and other financial meetings on a regular basis.
Continuing Education Requirements

The continuing education expectation for this position is 40 hours per year.
