JOB SUMMARY:

The Staff Accountant provides support to the Division Controller by taking ownership of day-to-day accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and payroll. The role also includes assistance with month-end close reconciliations, reporting, and audit support.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Enter accounts payable invoices, bank transactions, & credit card transactions
• Reconcile monthly vendor statements
• Maintain vendor W-9 and certificate of insurance files
• Run biweekly vendor payments via check and ACH
• Deposit client checks & enter deposits in system
• Collect supplier waivers necessary to receive payment

• Manage GC compliance items (insurance certificates, licensing, etc.)
• Manage receivables to minimize open balances over 60 days
• File preliminary notices and monitor lien rights on projects
• Enter project billings into Sage 300 & ensure accuracy compared to AIA documentation
• Process weekly payroll and manage weekly timecards, PTO requests
• Assist with month-end close reconciliations
• Assist with annual financial, 401K, & ESOP audits
• Assist in identifying weaknesses in accounting controls, recommend improvements, develop, enforce, maintain accounting policies, and document internal controls and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
• 2+ years of prior experience in accounting roles
• Skilled in working with Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
• Ability to interact professionally with internal and external clients
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work with little direct supervision
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Exhibits a high level of integrity and attention to detail
• Experience with Sage 300 CRE a plus
• Experience within the construction industry a plus
