What You Will Do:
As a Construction Materials Project Manager, you will take a leading role in managing project responsibilities across scoping, execution, technical documentation, and mentorship of junior staff.
- Testing construction materials: Perform tests and oversee special inspections of materials such as soil, concrete, asphalt, and others to ensure they meet project specifications and industry standards.
- Analyzing construction plans and specifications: Review project documents to accurately schedule testing and inspection services to meet project requirements.
- Recording and managing field activities: Document detailed observations and test results during project execution, using Metafield® or other management systems daily for efficient data handling and coordination.
- Preparing reports and proposals: Draft reports and proposals for materials testing and special inspection projects, ensuring thorough and accurate assessments and documentation.
- Communicating daily: Interact with management, contractors, and clients to maintain project transparency and provide regular updates on progress.

Qualifications:
- Education: High School diploma or GED
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Management, or a construction-related field
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in construction materials testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt, including progressive Project Management responsibilities
- Certifications/Professional Licensure-Registrations:
- Active Construction Materials industry certifications such as: American Concrete Institute (ACI): Field Testing Grade I; Strength Testing Technician; Laboratory Technician, and/or International Code Council (ICC): Special Inspector (Reinforced Concrete, Masonry, Soils)
- Engineer in Training (EIT) and on track to obtain a Professional Engineer (PE) or already have a Professional Engineer (PE)
- Key Competencies:
- Basic math and communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing) using the English language
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
This role involves hands-on work in outdoor environments, and with Company-provided Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), you'll need to be comfortable with:
- Working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Walking over rough, uneven terrain and standing (potentially up to 12 hours a day)
- Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs (field/laboratory samples and equipment)
- Working outside of normal business hours and traveling (typically out-of-town and/or overnight) as project needs arise
