Job Title: Master Plumber – Utilities Division
Job Summary
Sinacola is seeking an experienced Texas Licensed Master Plumber to lead and oversee plumbing, piping, and mechanical installation activities on commercial, industrial, water, wastewater, and infrastructure construction projects.
This position combines the technical expertise and licensing requirements of a Master Plumber with the field leadership responsibilities of a Piping Superintendent. The successful candidate will supervise foremen and field crews, coordinate with project management and other trades, interpret plans and specifications, ensure code compliance, maintain quality and safety standards, and keep projects on schedule and within budget.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on, experienced plumbing and piping professional with strong leadership, communication, scheduling, and problem-solving skills.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Serve as the Texas Licensed Master Plumber responsible for overseeing plumbing and piping work in accordance with applicable Texas requirements and project specifications.
- Supervise and coordinate daily plumbing, piping, and mechanical installation activities.
- Lead and direct foremen, plumbers, pipefitters, subcontractors, and field crews.
- Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, drawings, and work assignments to maintain productivity and project schedules.
- Read and interpret plumbing and piping blueprints, P&IDs, isometrics, specifications, shop drawings, and related construction documents.
- Supervise, coordinate, and oversee daily piping and mechanical installation activities.
- Lead and direct pipefitters, foremen, leadmen, subcontractors, and field crews.
- Coordinate daily work assignments and ensure crews have the required manpower, equipment, materials, drawings, and information.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, piping blueprints, P&IDs, piping isometrics, specifications, and related project documents.
- Verify pipe alignment, elevations, grades, layout, and installation accuracy.
- Ensure all piping installations comply with approved plans, specifications, applicable codes, manufacturer requirements, and project standards.
- Coordinate piping activities with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and other trades to prevent conflicts and maintain workflow.
- Develop and maintain field work schedules and coordinate manpower requirements to meet project milestones.
- Monitor project progress, crew productivity, labor hours, material usage, and daily production goals.
- Adjust manpower and work assignments as necessary to maintain schedule and productivity.
- Conduct regular quality-control inspections and correct deficiencies promptly.
- Identify and resolve field issues, installation conflicts, and constructability concerns.
- Lead daily safety meetings and enforce OSHA, company, and project-specific safety requirements.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment and ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and PPE.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, timekeeping, production records, material tracking, and other required project documentation.
- Communicate project status, manpower requirements, material needs, schedule concerns, and field conditions to project management.
- Coordinate material deliveries and ensure materials are available when required.
- Support commissioning, testing, startup, and turnover activities as required.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, professionalism, teamwork, and accountability.
Qualifications And Skills
- Current Texas Licensed Master Plumber license — required.
- Minimum 8 years of verifiable experience in the plumbing, pipefitting, or mechanical piping trades.
- Minimum 4 years of supervisory experience as a Foreman, General Foreman, Plumbing Superintendent, Piping Superintendent, or similar leadership position.
- Proven experience supervising multiple foremen, crews, subcontractors, and/or trades.
- Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing and piping systems.
- Experience with domestic water, sanitary/waste, process piping, and mechanical piping systems.
- Experience with pumps, valves, mechanical equipment, fittings, supports, and associated piping.
- Experience reading and interpreting plumbing and piping plans, blueprints, specifications, P&IDs, isometrics, and shop drawings.
- Strong knowledge of applicable plumbing codes and construction requirements.
- Experience coordinating plumbing and mechanical work with other construction trades.
- Proven ability to manage manpower, schedules, productivity, materials, and field operations.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work professionally with project managers, engineers, clients, inspectors, subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
- Valid driver's license.
- OSHA-30 certification required. Candidates who do not currently possess OSHA-30 may be given the opportunity to complete the course prior to employment. Experience on commercial mechanical construction projects.
- Experience with water and wastewater treatment facilities or heavy civil infrastructure projects.
- Experience with project scheduling, manpower forecasting, cost control, and production tracking.
- Experience working directly with AHJs, inspectors, engineers, and project owners.
