Civil Engineer I

Make an Impact

As a Civil Engineer I, you will work with project managers and engineers to complete plan design and production for a range of public and private infrastructure projects, including preparation of design documents and permits for site plans, utility plans and profiles, road design, traffic signal plans grading plans and right-of-way plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D software. You will help establish the standards for the technical design content of documentation in all phases of the design process, coordinate with other disciplines including consultants, and ensure internal quality assurance through quality control measures.

Deliver Results

Manage multiple projects from start up to completion within scope, schedule, and budget, including leading small project teams, assigning duties to other team members, and monitoring overall project progress.
Produce preliminary concepts and full design phase deliverables including drawings, specifications, cost estimates, quantity take-offs, technical reports, narratives, and permit applications.
Assist in the preparation of calculations and analyses for stormwater management systems, sanitary sewer, water supply and distribution, roadways and traffic signal design.
Assist in field investigations and the process to diagnose problems. Participate in field inspection services for conformance to plans and specifications and preparation of reports as a follow up.
Attend public meetings when required. Consult with regulatory agencies when necessary.
Use design software/technology, including AutoCAD 3D, HEC RAS, EPANET, MicroStation and other emerging technologies for presentation and production purposes.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an EAC/ABET-accredited program or equivalent in education and experience required for professional licensure.
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with current license.
3+ years of professional civil engineering experience with a wide variety of project types.
Strong knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

Multiple state licensures.
NCEES registration and NSPE membership.
CSI-CDT certification.
LEED AP BD+C and WELL AP certification.
Experience in HEC RAS, EPANET (water distribution), MicroStation, or SYNCRO.
Experience in Microsoft Project, SharePoint, and Teams.
