Divisional Overview
The Davey Tree utility division provides utility, municipal and rail clients with safe and efficient right-of-way clearance services. Our clients rely on us for proven vegetation management solutions, timely resource mobilization and proactive planning services to maintain their critical infrastructure.
Position Overview
This role will report directly to Mike Perri and support our Eastern Utility Operations team. You will serve as the primary skills trainer, playing a critical role in overseeing the training and development of all team members.
This position will require travel throughout the region. Home location is flexible.
Job Duties
- Partner with the regional managers and supervisors to facilitate employee development and maintain our safety program.
- Provide safe on-site training, mentoring, and supervision of crew members of all skill levels.
- Ensure that each crew member is trained appropriately for each designated job assignment.
- Ensure that new employee orientations are conducted.
- Provide mentoring, guidance and training for the execution of safe and productive work.
- Identify operational trends for areas of improvement.
- Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with industry and company standards.
- Provide mentorship, support, expertise, and leadership.
Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of industry experience
- Advanced climbing, rigging techniques, Chainsaw and knowledge understanding of Davey SOP’s
- Proficient with hazard tree work, mitigation, and removals
- Valid G class driver’s license. D class and air brake endorsement are considered valuable.
- Strong leadership abilities and vision for the program.
- Excellent communication skills, Enthusiastic and Engaging.
- 444B Utility Certified Arborist or Equivalent, 444A Arborist Certification or ISA Arborist Certification considered an asset.
