Solid Waste Engineering Principal

Overview

CEC is growing our operations, and we have an excellent opportunity to hire a Principal to contribute to our Waste Management Practice in our Phoenix, AZ location. As a Principal with CEC, you will assist in expanding the practice in market sectors that include traditional landfills, transfer stations, material recovery facility, compost facilities as well as other types of solid waste facilities. Also, as a Principal, you will assist in expanding the practice in market sectors that include hazardous waste facilities, including landfills and transportation, storage and disposal facilities. You will be responsible for developing new business, managing existing client relationships, as well as managing projects, mentoring junior staff, making hiring recommendations, and providing direction on a variety of projects for private and public sector clients.

Qualifications

10+ years’ experience in the Solid Waste or Hazardous waste industry including engineering design, operations and management;
Demonstrated business development and client management experience required;
Strong professional relationships with clients in applicable market sector(s);
B.S. in Civil, Geotechnical, or Environmental Engineering (M.S. a plus);
Arizona Professional Engineering (P.E.) Licensure;
Sound understanding of business principles of consulting projects and related project delivery tools;
Strong client and project management skills:
- Good communication, leadership, planning and mentoring skills required;
- Promote our safety culture and encourage collaboration, and;
- Foster an attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture.
