Overview

As a Survey Technician Intern for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you will be part of a survey field crew performing work on topographic and boundary surveys, and construction stakeouts. You will perform land survey work through the application of surveying principles and practices and use of modern survey equipment. You will operate instrumentation, clear brush, drive stakes, hold chains or rods, record data, prepare sketches and maintain equipment as-needed. You will also have the opportunity to be responsible for utilizing surveying software applications to gather, retrieve, interpret important data, and perform basic survey computations. Ultimately, this position will provide a foundation for further professional development as a land surveyor. Housing assistance not provided, therefore local candidates preferred.

Through the CEC Internship Program, you will:

Acquire practical experience applying knowledge from college courses, learn from industry experts, and collaborate with teams across functional groups and locations;
Develop a robust professional network through social events and interactive activities;
Collaborate closely with a mentor in your discipline to tackle real-world challenges; and
Participate in workshops to help foster interpersonal skills within the workplace and prepare students for success in their full-time careers.

Qualifications

0-2 years related survey experience;
Pursuing Associates or Bachelors in Survey Engineering, Geomatic Engineering, or other related field preferred;
Ability to operate motorized equipment and possession of sufficient physical stamina to work outdoors under various field conditions; and
Valid Driver's License.
