What you’ll be doing
- Prepare month-end journal entries. Update Excel sheets and Vantagepoint with journal entries.
- Balance general ledger accounts. Provide appropriate support for balance sheet accounts.
- Review daily accounts payable postings for accuracy. Ensuring accuracy with FAR guidelines and company policies.
- Maintain company-wide project cost accounting system. Take ownership of Vantagepoint and Electronic Invoicing; handle maintenance issues, special requests, and advanced processing.
- Primary contact for the FAR In-Direct Cost Rate Audit. Prepare and upload as needed schedules, reports, and documents to be used by the auditors by appropriate due dates. Answer questions as necessary.
- Provide required information to our third-party administrator for the 401k plan and ESOP plan. Coordinating with Payroll and preparing and providing the information needed to support allocations, testing, and other 401k or ESOP plan regulatory requirements that must be met.
- Responsible for leading the 401k and ESOP Audits. Working with internal staff, our third-party provider, and auditors to obtain and provide the required information, as well as filing the 5500 with the IRS when the audits are complete.
- Support yearly company financial statement review. Providing support to the CFO to help prepare any information that might be required by the auditors.
- Gather required information for the yearly insurance renewal. Gather the required information from various sources to fill out the appropriate business insurance forms as requested by the insurance companies and broker.
- Issue 1099’s each year. This will include reviewing our records to make sure the required 1099’s are filed with vendors and the IRS.
- Update current policies and procedures to include all areas of the department.
- Support in the yearly budget process as requested.
- Provide back-up as necessary for other roles within the department.
- Assist CFO with other special requests.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or similar field.
- Current knowledge of FAR and WSDOT Audit Guidelines.
- Knowledge of project accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent computer skills, with proficiency in the Microsoft Suite, especially Excel and Word.
- Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint accounting software is preferred.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, with strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as experience interacting with clients and management staff.
- Service-oriented personality.
- Experience working with a project-based and private consulting firm is desired.
- Ability to handle a diverse workload of multiple projects, each with specific details, deadlines, and expectations.
- Excellent time management skills and comfort working with tight deadlines and quick turnarounds, while still paying keen attention to details.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team, meet deadlines, and manage priorities.
- Character of high integrity, trustworthiness, and reliability.
