The Mail Services Clerk is responsible for processing of all incoming inter-office and outgoing mail.
Responsibilities
- Pick up and process daily incoming mail to include sorting, opening, stamping, and recording of all incoming checks.
- Receive all incoming packages on PC and log outgoing packages for UPS on PC.
- Return mail without proper information or misdelivered mail, as well as return mail for approval within one week of receipt.
- Route mail to slots daily and as needed.
- Process outgoing mail (complete folding/mailing of checks and worksheets within one day of receipt) and rate shop between UPS and USPS.
- Provide back up to switchboard, as needed.
- Responsible for maintaining necessary level of postage in meter (postage by phone).
- Responsible for ordering of postage supplies (postage via phone).
- Maintain daily work log. Maintain mail cart and mail slots.
- Prepare UPS and Air shipments along with reports.
- Record all association postage daily and through UPS scale. Run daily and monthly reports for Accounting.
- Verify air services billing for payment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to alphabetize, sort, and deliver mail.
- Must be a self-starter with strong organizational abilities.
- Ability to coordinate and prioritize required.

- Ability to work as a team member in a rapidly changing environment.
- Reliable, predictable attendance within client service hours for the performance of this position.

- Ability to clearly communicate verbally and/or in writing both internally and externally.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
Computer Skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.

Object Handling Categories
Work requires the ability to lift/carry objects routinely as follows:
Heavy Lifting: Objects weighing 35-50 pounds lifted on a regular basis. Mechanical lifting devices (carts, dollies, etc.) or team lifts should be utilized.
Medium Lifting: Objects weighing 15-35 pounds lifted on a regular basis.
