Overview
Join Civil & Environmental Consultants as a Survey Crew Chief and take the next step in your career by leading field operations and mentoring junior staff. You’ll work on a variety of survey projects under the guidance of a licensed Professional Surveyor.
Responsibilities:
- Lead field crews on boundary, topographic, ALTA/ACSM, and construction layout surveys
- Operate robotic total station, GNSS receivers, and other advanced survey equipment
- Ensure data accuracy, safety compliance, and efficient crew operations
- Train and mentor junior field staff, fostering technical growth and teamwork
- Maintain detailed field notes, diagrams, and equipment logs
- Collaborate with Project Managers and office staff to support project delivery

Qualifications
- 5+ years of field surveying experience
- Experience supervising, directing, and coordinating site survey crew activities
- Valid Driver’s License
- Comfortable with working on active construction sites in various weather conditions
- Possessing a CST Level II or FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification is a plus
- Experience operating total station, GNSS, or other advanced survey equipment
- Skilled in the use of GPS devices, survey and drafting technologies, data collectors, and/or Total Station
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Surveying or related studies is a plus
