Matrix Design Group—a distinguished, award-winning engineering, planning, and consulting firm that is proudly 100% employee-owned—is seeking an Entry-Level Marketing Assistant with graphic design knowledge to join our Marketing & Communications (MARCOM) team in our Phoenix, AZ office. The knowledge and experience you’ll gain here will be invaluable as you advance your marketing career. This role is ideal for someone with 1-2 years of marketing and graphic design experience, a keen eye for detail, and a strong team spirit. The ideal candidate should have a can-do attitude and be willing to go the extra mile to complete projects.
Role Summary:
Reporting to the Director of MARCOM, you will manage multiple marketing tasks and graphics projects often with competing deadlines, supporting both internal proposal and technical teams, and corporate marketing initiatives. The successful candidate will excel in time management and be adept at creating, executing, and editing concepts and layouts for various projects.
- Support day-to-day marketing administrative functions
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to gather information and support overall marketing efforts
- Curate engaging content for company’s social media platforms (i.e., LinkedIn) to include maintaining content calendar, writing copy, developing graphics, and posting content.
- Support the creation and maintenance of marketing materials and marketing campaigns across various channels.
- Provide ongoing updates to website including landing pages, imagery/graphics, etc. ensuring accuracy and relevance.
- Assist in developing marketing presentations for client interviews and Matrix corporate.
- Track, order, and maintain inventory of marketing promotional items (swag).
- Provide graphic support, as needed for proposals and presentations to proposal team.
- Assist in planning and organizing industry/marketing events, and provide support as needed (marketing materials, banners, swag, etc.).
- Organize/track project photography.
- Work with Graphics to maintain Matrix’s brand and consistency in reviewing and creating outgoing marketing materials.
- Create visually engaging graphics, layouts and presentations for marketing materials
- Stay current with industry trends and techniques to ensure the use of innovative design practices.
Competencies:
- 1- 2 years of experience in a marketing/graphic design role in a corporate environment with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
- Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign and Illustrator; and MS Office Suite
- Social media management; digital marketing campaigns, and newsletters.
- Experience creating and managing websites using a CMS such as Joomla, WordPress, or similar.
- A keen eye for detail and a passion for visual storytelling.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively and respectfully with team members.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to embrace feedback and iterate on designs.
- Capable of multi-tasking, being proactive, and working independently or as part of a team, while establishing and managing priorities.
- Demonstrates initiative, creativity, adaptability, and accountability.
Education and Experience:
- Undergraduate degree in Graphic Design or related discipline
- Salary range: $45,000-$55,000 (based on experience)
This is a hybrid position based in Phoenix, AZ. Monday through Friday (40) hours a week, often requiring additional hours to meet deadlines.
