The primary responsibility of the Manager, Data Governance is evaluating and prioritizing business and technology requests into actionable initiatives and guiding the team on translating this work into actionable results and recommendations. This role oversees and conducts business analysis, requirements gathering, root-cause analysis, and data governance and quality documentation while influencing change and driving value within the organization.

What You'll Be Doing
- Collaborate with Business Partners: Gather requirements, create use cases, and construct value propositions that capture the opportunity, risk, and value of data issues.
- Data Governance Evangelism: Develop a strong steward community across the business and create opportunities to integrate governance with day-to-day activities and key projects.
- Promote Data Quality: Develop and implement data quality standards and procedures while educating business users on data quality best practices.
- Communication: Deliver targeted communications through multiple channels, clearly articulating the value, status, and potential of data governance projects.
- Enablement Roadmap: Guide the development of quarterly updates and reports that support the data governance team in creating and ensuring quality content.
- Strategic Engagement: Anticipate potential governance needs in business and technology initiatives and issues.
- Risk and Privacy Mindset: Evaluate data governance initiatives with a focus on risk, privacy, and safety.
- Leadership: Lead advanced data governance initiatives and engage in external industry forums on data governance, data quality, and metadata management.
- Continuous Improvement: Review existing data governance frameworks to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Stakeholder Communication: Document and communicate the impact of changes to relevant stakeholders.
- Workshops and Training: Facilitate workshops to educate business partners about best practices for data governance.
- Support Compliance: Assist Legal, Compliance, and Cyber Security with annual assessments and act as a subject matter expert on data governance.
- Master Data Management: Partner with data engineering and business partners to support and implement master data management initiatives.
- Data Projects Leadership: Lead data projects with sensitive contexts and privacy concerns.
- Council Leadership: Lead the data governance communication with key stake holders to address and resolve data issues.
- Executive Presentations: Occasionally lead presentations on the roadmap, current projects and objectives on data governance initiatives.
- Consistently models the Company values and expected behaviors.

What We're Looking For
- Bachelor of Science (B.S) Information Technology, Data Management, Computer Science, or related field. Required
- 6+ years data governance with proven experience developing and implementing data governance and risk management practices at an enterprise level. Required
- Excellent judgment and ability to analyze issues quickly and independently.
- Self-starter, open-minded, and comfortable with ambiguity.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Experience developing requirements and use cases and translating these into actionable results and recommendations.
- Familiarity with industry-leading data governance and quality platforms (e.g., Alation, Informatica, Collibra).
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders.
- Experience in designing, executing, and improving processes.
- Workshop facilitation, change management methodologies, and project management skills.
- Familiarity with data literacy, data management, and governance policies and standards
- Certified Data Management (CDMP) within 1 Year Preferred
