We are seeking an experienced Controls Commissioning Technician to ensure HVAC systems operate per engineering specifications by programming and verifying controls. This role requires a solid understanding of commercial HVAC systems, commissioning processes, digital control concepts, and the ability to test and troubleshoot a variety of system components. The technician will collaborate with other trades and communicate effectively with clients, working independently to make informed decisions and adjustments as needed.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

Verify HVAC systems' operation through controls programming to meet engineering specifications.
Balance air and water systems as part of commissioning.
Test and troubleshoot sensors, controllers, ladder logic, level sensors, current sensors, transducers, VFDs, actuators, low voltage circuits, relays, and various electronics.
Read and interpret blueprints, control sequences, and electrical schematics.
Coordinate work with other trades and assist the commercial construction startup team as needed.
Communicate effectively with customers regarding system status and project progress.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical/trade school or military experience is helpful
English language skills (written and verbal)
At least 5 years of commercial experience with a strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems: Hydronics, VAVs, VVT, Chillers, Boilers, VRV, RTUs, and Exhaust systems.
Proficiency in digital control concepts, including digital and analog inputs/outputs, sequence of operations, device programming, system addressing, serial communications, and computer networking.
Problem-solving skills, including confidence to make changes independently and provide feedback to supervisors.
Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
Strong computer skills and understanding of NEC codes.
Organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to safety policies.
