Key Responsibilities of the Accounts Receivable Manager

Lead and mentor a team of accounts receivable specialists, ensuring effective task delegation, performance monitoring, and professional development.
Manage and oversee the accounts receivable process, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with financial policies.
Oversee the accurate and timely generation of invoices, including annual mass billing processes.
Analyze open customer receivables, identify trends, and propose solutions to resolve discrepancies.
Review past-due accounts, research disputed invoices, and take necessary actions such as invoice resends, PO number updates, and issue resolution.
Prepare and analyze accounts receivable reports, identifying key trends and areas for improvement.
Oversee the annual audit process for accounts receivable, ensuring all reporting requirements are met.
Maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring timely responses to billing inquiries and dispute resolutions.
Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated A/R issues, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders.

What You Need to Succeed as an Accounts Receivable Manager

Education & Experience

Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
3–5 years of experience in accounts receivable management, with at least 2 years of team leadership experience.
Proven success in managing A/R operations in a business environment.
Proficiency in accounting software (preferably Oracle NetSuite) and data analysis tools.
