SENIOR ACCOUNTANT - TECHNICAL ACCOUNTING - HYBRID & W/L BALANCE

$100 000 - $115 000

Our client is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Accountant - technical accounting. This is a newly created position to join their growing division. As the Senior Accountant, Technical Accounting, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance to ASC 606/ASC 842. This is a full-time position, with growth opportunity and will report to the Director of Corporate Reporting in a large stable organization.

Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant - Technical Accounting:

Assist with the company's accounting efforts related to ASC 606 and ASC 842 compliance
Interpret and apply technical accounting guidance to ensure proper revenue and lease accounting treatment
Assist in preparing and reviewing technical memos documenting the company's accounting positions
Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures for revenue recognition and lease standards
Partner with internal teams to gather and analyze key contract data for appropriate accounting treatment
Assist with ad-hoc financial projects and initiatives as needed

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Public accounting experience - preferable top 10 firms
CPA required
Knowledge of GAAP and ASC 606/ASC 842
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with all levels of the organization
