About the Role

We're looking for Cultural Resources Specialists – Field Technicians to support upcoming projects and workload in the Northern California area. These positions will be on-call with duration and schedule of assignments dependent on project needs.

You Will:

Participate in archaeological surveys, excavation, and monitoring, including the: use of GPS equipment; excavation of shovel probes, auger probes, and test units; and monitoring of backhoe excavations and construction activities.
Hike in difficult terrain with challenging vegetation and obstacles and/or excavate in hot and dry conditions with winds and dust.
Complete field forms and correctly identify and document artifacts and features.

You Have:

Bachelor’s degree in archaeology, anthropology, or closely related field.
1 year of professional experience in archaeological survey, monitoring, and/or excavation.
Familiarity with California archaeological site types and artifact identification.
The ability to hike in the range of 10+ miles per day and carry loads of 40 lbs. over difficult terrain.

Compensation Information: Hourly rate for this position is in the range of $27.00–$32.00.
