Description

Under the direction and supervision of Cx staff, the Cx EIT I assists in the creation of commissioning plans from construction documents and prepares material estimates for Cx projects. The Cx EIT I is responsible for learning Cx technical policies and procedures as well as performing site visits for project managers when needed.

Essential Functions

Prepares commissioning plans, which are made up of pre-functional checklists, functional performance tests, and the training matrix from contract documents prepared by the project design and construction team
Assists with data input for Cx checklists
Prepares test procedures for checking the operation of systems
Reads and interprets blueprints, technical drawings, and shop drawings
Performs project job site visits during construction to observe and learn about conformance to design specifications and owner expectations; these visits are performed with or without senior technical staff
Learns to understand Cx technical policies and procedures during the execution of projects
Attends training to become a certified commissioning provider
Actively attends in-house training sessions to obtain knowledge in necessary technical areas
Assist the project team in the development of technical documentation, proposals, and presentations
Acts and performs activities inside and outside the organization in a manner consistent with ethical engineering standards
Performs any other duties or responsibilities as assigned

Knowledge, Skill, And Ability Requirements

KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Knowledge of engineering theories and methodologies
Knowledge of industry specific software (i.e., Revit and AutoCAD)
Study and Pass FE exam within first year

Written Communication Skills – ability to clearly deliver a message through written words using correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation

Detail-Oriented – ability to achieve accuracy and thoroughness when accomplishing a task; pays attention to details and is able to understand the cause of a certain outcome
Judgement and Decision-Making Skills – ability to make reasoned judgments that are logical and well thought out; constructively questioning and analyzing information in order to make the best conclusion
Technical Writing Skills – skilled in the area of summarizing or explaining technical information in a clear, concise, and accurate way, communicating the point intended

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited college

Frequently use a computer for several hours at a time
May need to periodically maneuver over, under, and around barriers as well as climb ladders on a job site
Requires the ability to transport ladders and plans weighing up to 30 pounds
