Role Overview
Our Sr. Project Managers oversee the financial success of the building process, working in partnership with Architects, Engineers, and Owners to support the development of the plans. They identify and plan all the moving parts, and are responsible for ensuring the project is completed on budget and within scope.
Role & Responsibilities - Project Cost Oversight, Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare monthly project updates for leadership and maintain executive owner contract summaries.
- Manage, maintain and review a variety of project reports, weekly owner project reports, including general condition budget, change order logs, purchasing schedule, and adherence to the Absolutes.
- Prepare project WIP reports, set baselines and forecast throughout duration of project(s). Be able to identify and correct trends as required to meet project and business unit goals.
- Scheduling:
- Develop and maintain master schedules, track progress, address delays, and drive timely project completion in collaboration with the project team.
- Conduct regular meetings with teams to ensure adherence to the project schedule, proper documentation of delays, and development of logical and achievable recovery schedules when required.
- Owner Relationships:
- Build and maintain strong, transparent relationships with clients by promptly addressing requests, providing clear project updates, understanding client-specific needs, and exceeding expectations.
- Regularly interact to confirm satisfaction and proactively address issues, including resolving owner change orders and contract negotiations.
- Project Buyout:
- Collaborate with teams to timely complete the buyout process, review subcontractor proposals, and negotiate contracts with clear scopes and durations.
- Subcontractor Management:
- Maintain communication, address underperformance issues, review draw requests, process change orders, and resolve subcontractor and procurement challenges proactively.
- Project Closeout:
- Take full accountability for project closeout and provide oversight to the team to ensure thorough and timely completion of the closeout process.
- Business Development:
- Actively participate in Business Development activities including Client Success Strategies, Client Experiences, and Win Strategies.
- Assist the Business Development Manager, Director of Estimating, Vice President of Precon, Project Executive, Vice President, and Division President with attending events, prospective client meetings, and other events as deemed necessary.
- Preconstruction:
- Actively participate in budgeting, estimating, scheduling, subcontractor selection, and client presentations during preconstruction. Support project turnovers, phasing, and logistics planning, ensuring thorough proposal reviews and seamless handoffs between estimating and operations teams.
Skills & Qualifications
- Refined organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks for self, team, and projects
- Strong communication skills including listening, presenting, interpersonal and written
- Minimum 7-10 years of related experience with a General Contractor preferred
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project), and experience with (or ability to learn) Procore
Compensation
- In addition to offering a competitive base salary, Catamount employees are eligible for additional incentives for merit/performance, project incentives, new hire referrals, and business development commissions.
