DCS has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer supporting the Training Division (AFLCMC/WNR) at Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, Utah. The WNR Division serves as the Air Force’s technical, acquisition, and sustainment authority, delivering comprehensive and mission-critical support to the warfighter. The division oversees a wide range of Air Force systems including Electronic Warfare, Range Systems, Air Combat Training, Command and Control Systems, Advanced Radar Threat Systems, and Combat Survivor Evader Locator systems. WNR also provides ongoing support to depot-level sustainment, Foreign Military Sales (FMS), and partners such as the U.S. Army, Navy, PACAF, ACC, AFMC, and AETC. This position supports engineering and technical management activities across the acquisition lifecycle. In this Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) role, the Senior Systems Engineer provides expert-level engineering support to Department of Defense (DoD) programs. The role assists government leadership with systems engineering planning, execution, technical oversight, and lifecycle management to ensure compliance with program specifications and mission objectives. Essential Job Functions: Conduct program and portfolio reviews to evaluate technical baselines, alternative plans, system designs, and test results. Design and perform system-level tests to ensure subsystem and overall system performance meets approved specifications. Provide engineering support across acquisition phases including material solution analysis, technology maturation, engineering and manufacturing development, production, deployment, installation, and operations oversight. Support proposal analysis activities by evaluating technical feasibility, compatibility, and cost effectiveness. Assist with source documentation including ICDs, CDDs, CPDs, AoAs, Military Utility Assessments, CONOPS, Technology Development Strategies, FCAs/PCAs, and Technology Standards Profiles. Support requirements definition and analysis, architecture design and implementation, system integration, verification and validation. Provide engineering support for risk management, configuration management, technical data management, interface management, and version control processes. Assist in development of Systems Engineering Plans (SEP), Risk Management Plans (RMP), and other acquisition documentation. Conduct formal trade studies evaluating performance, cost effectiveness, lifecycle cost, reliability, maintainability, productivity, risk, and schedule impacts. Provide independent assessments of system readiness for production and risk mitigation. Support planning and execution of technical reviews such as System Requirements Reviews (SRR) and Technology Readiness Assessments (TRA). Develop and maintain systems engineering documentation and ensure proper linkage between systems-of-systems architectures. Required Skills: Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required. Must have and be able to maintain a Secret clearance. Bachelor’s Degree in a professional engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited program with 12 years of directly related experience, including 5 years in a DoD environment or 15 years of directly related experience with 8 years in a DoD environment. Requirements development across production, deployment, operations, and sustainment. Architecture development and implementation. Modeling and Simulation, including Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles. Verification & Validation (V&V). Technical data package development and sustainment. Configuration management principles. Network architectures, embedded systems, and application deployment across hardware platforms. Cloud deployment and virtualization environments. Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes including Technology Maturation, Risk Reduction, Engineering Manufacturing Development (EMD), and Production & Deployment. Desired Skills: Familiarity with Electronic Warfare and/or Air Combat operations. Experience with live aircrew training and TTP development. Range infrastructure architectures and systems. Familiarity with foreign ground radar. Master’s Degree in a professional engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited program with 10 years of directly related experience, including 5 years in a DoD environment.
