Sales Account Manager (Springfield, MO)
This position is the leading contact to a handful of our customers. On a daily basis, the incumbent in this position will manage customer communications, solve customer issues, monitor and assist in company strategy relating to the customer and collaborate with the customer to ensure satisfaction. On occasion, the Sales Account Manager will be faced with difficult conversations and will need to exhibit an ability to manage both customer and company expectations in problem solving situations. The ideal candidate poses a high level of enthusiasm and energy.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Daily interface with internal and external customers via telephone, electronically or face to face.
- Communicate with internal departments to provide input to customer problem resolution.
- Respond promptly to all customer inquiries.
- Identify and recommend appropriate SRC solutions to customer needs/problems
- Works with Materials, and Production to provide customer information regarding lead-times on product.
- Receive, log and enter customer purchase orders, and communicate all orders to the Materials Department.
- Keeps records of customer interactions and transactions, records details of complaints, inquiries, comments, and actions taken
- Assists in development of the semi-annual Sales Strategy presentations that are communicated to the Corporate Board of Directors
- Manage conflict with customers to ensure superior customer satisfaction
- Communicate customer needs across all departments to ensure SRC delivers on customers expectations on part delivery, quality, pricing, and billing.
- Respond to customer calls as necessary, expedite customer orders and assist with warranty issues as needed
- Manage and log customer interactions with Customer Relationship Management (CRM Software)
- Manage product forecast with the customer and communicate to the organization what volume and mix the customer is expected to purchase.
- Develop strong relationships across multiple departments within the customer’s organization
- Identify opportunities with the customer through market intelligence, customer calls, and feedback to deliver solutions to the customer
- Represent SRC and it’s customers at organizational, trade, and customer trade shows and Expos
- Quoting new programs and products to maximize profitability for the organization
- Will include approximately 25% travel.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk and hear. Sitting 80%, standing/walking 20%. Frequently lift and or move up to 20 pounds and 40 pounds occasionally.
Essential Qualifications
- Minimum High School diploma or GED, Bachelor of Science degree is preferred in a business or technical discipline, or two years of related experience in lieu of each one year of formal education.
- Two (2) years of successful customer relations experience preferred.
- Experience in automotive, industrial or/and marine markets is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-assured and confident in a variety of settings.
- High level of energy and motivation
- Must have the ability to multi-task by balancing/prioritizing 5-10 projects at any given time.
- Requires effective relationship management skills with co-workers in a team environment and with customers in a sales and support context.
- Requires effective time management skills, personal conduct, and change management abilities.
- Requires the desire to expand personal competencies and capabilities through training and education.
- Computer literacy/experience required. Must be proficient in Windows environments. Working knowledge of word processing, PowerPoint, spreadsheets, and e-mail.
