Detailed Description:
As a member of the Southern California Leadership team, you will work closely with the Southwest Area Leader, Local Leaders, Area Practice Leaders (APLs), and local Client Service Managers (CSMs) to develop and implement growth strategies for Southern California. In this position you will manage client sales and relationship development, project execution, financial performance, and staff career development for the San Diego municipal practice.
You will also serve as the San Diego Office Leader (Local Leader). The Local Leader plays a critical role in leading the engagement of all employees in an office location, regardless of the group to which they belong, driving organizational health and enabling the virtual enterprise from the local office level and across the business. You will demonstrate the ability to lead BC employees and work collaboratively with other leaders in the best interest of our Company.
- Work with other Area leaders to develop, communicate, and deliver a SoCal Area business plan that supports overall Company objective.
- Serves as Project Manager on Water/ Wastewater Projects
- Connect with the business units, enterprise groups, and corporate groups as necessary to bring the right resources to bear on client pursuits and projects
- Deliver business metrics which include new sales, new contracts, revenue, and direct labor
- Work closely with the Project Management Office (PMO) to drive “on plan” project delivery for the business
- Help drive sales by partnering with CSMs, APLs and the marketing team
- Work with other leaders in the office to drive resource performance management, succession planning, and employee engagement
- Attract, develop, and retain top talent
- Hold monthly staff meetings to inform and engage all staff assigned to the office
- Manage company risk by ensuring compliance with the Company Risk Policies
- Model BC Values to our employees and clients
Be a visible leader in the environmental industry in the office geography and within the Business.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- B.S. degree in Engineering related field to the water industry required; M.S. degree desired.
- 10 or more years of experience in Water/ Wastewater project management, business development, talent management, and operations
- Increasingly responsible experience with previous project management experience required
- Experience with water/wastewater design, planning, and studies, along with leadership on projects
- Ability to successfully manage clients, projects, and teams in a collaborative fashion
- Ability to interface with Brown and Caldwell’s local, regional, and national water and wastewater practitioners as well as help mentor junior staff
- Self-starter, results-oriented, and able to work under tight deadlines
- Successful marketing, proposal writing, proposal management, and public presentations experience a plus
- Previous supervisory experience with strong written and verbal communication skills required
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record required
Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Salary: $172,000 - $236,000
