As a Chainman, you'll play a key role in supporting field survey operations-working alongside experienced survey professionals while building the technical foundation for a long-term career in land surveying.

The Role: We are seeking a motivated Chainman to support our Survey team in Utah.

In this role, you will assist in field survey data collection, operate modern survey equipment, and support a variety of surveying and mapping efforts. You will work closely with the Party Chief and survey team to help ensure projects are completed safely, accurately, and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Support field survey efforts including boundary surveys, right-of-way surveys, topographic surveys, construction staking, ALTA surveys, and control surveys
Assist with the setup and operation of survey equipment including total stations, GPS RTK systems, data collectors, digital levels, and laser scanners
Record accurate field data, notes, and sketches (digital and handwritten)
Assist with level circuits and GPS real-time network calibrations
Read and interpret engineering plans, survey maps, and field notes
Support staking, monument placement, and marking activities
Maintain survey equipment, tools, and vehicles in good working condition
Follow established safety procedures on active job sites
Collaborate with survey team members and occasionally support basic Crew Chief duties

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma (2+ years of related field survey experience preferred)
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
Strong communication and organizational skills
Basic understanding of survey methods, equipment, and field procedures
Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions for extended periods (up to 12 hours per day)
