Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership & Supervision
- Supervise, coach, and mentor production Team members to ensure optimal team performance and accountability.
- Organize daily work assignments, monitor team progress, and ensure staffing levels meet operational needs.
- Conduct daily shift meetings to communicate production goals, quality standards, and safety expectations.
- Maintain open and effective communication across departments, including coordination between supply and customer lines.
- Identify training needs, drive efficiency and continuous improvement, assist with the development of training plans, and conduct on-the-job training as needed.
Production Oversight
- Monitor production schedules and ensure timely completion of work orders while minimizing downtime.
- Troubleshoot production issues and coordinate with maintenance, quality, and engineering teams as needed.
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
- Flexes across lines to increase efficiency.
Safety & Compliance
- Promote and enforce a culture of safety by ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and company safety policies.
- Conduct regular safety audits and participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S and housekeeping standards.
- Perform Layered Process Audits (LPAs) and ensure compliance with company safety policies, PPE standards, and regulatory requirements.
Quality Assurance
- Collaborate with Quality teams to ensure that all products meet internal and customer Quality standards.
- Lead containment and corrective actions when defects or non-conformities are identified.
Continuous Improvement
- Support and implement Lean Manufacturing principles, Kaizen events, and process improvement initiatives.
- Identify and recommend improvements in productivity, quality, cost, and Team member engagement.
Administrative Duties
- Complete accurate shift reports, performance metrics, and production documentation.
- Lead and participate in performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and hiring recommendations.
- Track attendance and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Safeguard confidential information and ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
Skills & Qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma or GED required, Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, including at least one year in a supervisory role.
- Working knowledge of lean manufacturing, safety compliance, and quality standards (e.g., ISO/TS/IATF).
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams using collaborative and performance-based methods.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with ERP or MES systems preferred.
- Understanding of production operations, manufacturing processes, and basic mechanical aptitude.
- Knowledge of safety regulations (OSHA), lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement practices.

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged standing and some walking.
- Must be able to lift up to a minimum of 50 pounds occasionally.
- Use of functional Core Tools
Working Conditions/Environment:
- This position requires working with various temperature conditions.
- The following motions can be required during the day: Standing or sitting for extended periods of time, stepping up & down, balancing, bending (hip & knees), reaching, standing, walking, pulling, pushing, lifting (from floor to waist, waist to chest, chest to head), observing, hearing, grasping, pressing, and other repetitive actions.
- When in the plant, this position requires working with various temperature conditions, dirt/dust and noise. A variety of proper PPE is required to provide a safe working environment.
- Requires working and interacting with others in person and through phone, electronic, and written correspondence, as well as listening effectively, communicating, maintaining attention to detail, and performing focused work.
- This work is deadline-oriented, requires multitasking, fluctuating work schedules, and flexibility within the workday.
- Frequent use of a computer and other office equipment is necessary.
- Requires the ability for close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
