Harris Group is looking for an Architect to join us in one of our west coast offices in Lynnwood, Washington; Seattle, Washington; Portland, Oregon; Lafayette, California; or Thousand Oaks, California. You'll work across small-to-large environments, from individual laboratories and specialized workspaces to major facility expansions, within high-impact manufacturing sectors including biotechnology, microelectronics, aerospace, and similar industries.
This is a role for an architect who wants their work to mean something. You'll partner day-to-day with our in-house engineering disciplines, contributing to designs that directly affect how people work, how facilities perform, and how our clients operate. From early programming through construction support, you'll shape renovation and greenfield projects where thoughtful planning, code rigor, and constructability make a real difference.
What You'll Do
- Deliver strong architectural design that navigates real constraints: client processes, phasing, codes, and safety requirements
- Develop and maintain high-quality project documents and drawings — accurate, clear, and well-coordinated
- Research and define design parameters aligned with client intent and project goals
- Interpret and apply codes and standards (IBC/IFC, NFPA, OSHA) for industrial, laboratory, office, and hazardous occupancies; prepare code analyses for clients and AHJ review
- Coordinate closely with in-house engineers to develop innovative, practical, and constructible solutions
- Observe and monitor construction activities, providing reviews and clarifications as needed
- Travel to project sites or accept client site assignments when the work requires it
- Contribute actively to business development efforts — as an owner, winning new work is part of the job
What You Bring
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture with 5+ years of experience on industrial capital projects
- Architectural license and NCARB Certificate both in good standing or ability to obtain license and certificate within 6 months
- Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying IBC/IFC, NFPA, and OSHA requirements for client and AHJ presentations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Advanced architectural knowledge, sound technical judgment, and a genuine client focus
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, MS Office, and manual sketching
- Ability to pass client badging and background screening processes
Your Benefits Package
- Salary: $90,000–$120,000/year, depending on education, experience, location, and directly related certifications
- Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision insurance; life insurance; 401(k) with company matching; PTO and paid holidays
- Employee Ownership: As an ESOP participant, you'll receive an annual allocation of company stock, tangible stake in the firm's growth and profitability. This is wealth-building that compounds over time and is funded entirely by the company on your behalf.
