SARA is looking for a remarkably talented, motivated, and experienced Industrial Security Specialist – CSSO to support activities out of our Cypress, CA location. The candidate will have the opportunity to grow and learn with talented engineers, physicists, and technicians on long-standing programs and new programs supporting our customers.
The Industrial Security Specialist – CSSO will be well-versed in security for special access programs, industrial security, and have knowledge of multiple security disciplines to include personnel and physical security, document control, classified information systems, classification management, and OPSEC.
Core Responsibilities:
- Support a fast-paced program
- Oversees the facility's daily security operations; provides and administers industrial security programs in accordance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), applicable laws, regulations, and contract requirements for a facility, which is typically a military base
- Supervises special access programs, analyzes security procedures, and recommends changes to make the procedure more effective

- Provides internal and external security patrols and inspections of facilities, inspects the security processes on a regular basis to avoid any issues, keeps track of the maintenance of all security programs, and ensures conformity to industrial security management disciplines and compliance with National Industrial Security Program (NISP) and Special Access Program Security Manual-DODM 5205.07
- Oversees thorough and complete capture of all relevant industrial security information, prepares essential reports, troubleshoots all types of issues related to industrial security, and resolves concerns or queries from government agencies or Federal investigators
- Create, maintain, and leverage working relationships with internal and external customers
- Manage SAP PERSEC records
- Maintain program security documents to include OPSEC, EAP, and SOP procedures
- Conduct SAP program indoctrination security briefings, annual SAP security refresher briefings, security training, foreign travel briefings, program debriefings, investigating and reporting security violations and incident reports
- Process and maintain VARs for program related travel to and from the SARA location
- Maintain accreditation of Sensitive Compartmented Facility and responsible for any changes or adjustments that are necessary to the Fixed Facility Checklist (FFC)
- Maintain and Coordinate all Co-Use agreements, MOAs, and MOUs
- Review program pre-screen paperwork for accuracy and completion and submit program access requests
- Assist with maintaining appropriate facility security databases including, but not limited to, DISS, NBIS, NISS, e-QIP, ISFD, SWFT, DIAS, and JADE
- Make sound decisions while staying within compliance of Customer and SARA policies and procedures
- Participate as needed in special department projects
- Other duties as required
Requirements:
- 1 – 2 years of industrial security experience
- Must possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of the US Government’s 32 CFR, Part 117 (NISPOM), ICD 705, ICD 704, ICD 503, DoD Manuals 5205.06 V1-4
- Experience in program security and personnel security with knowledge of implementing a multi-disciplined security program (access control, physical security, OPSEC, security education etc.)
- Must be able to respond to after hour alarms
- Experienced in all Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook)
- Able to effectively communicate information to various audiences both verbally and through written communications
- Strong customer service mindset
- Dependable, responsive, customer focused and possess the qualities of diplomacy, tact, excellent judgment, discretion, and initiative with persons at all levels of positions
- Ability to be flexible, adjusting to changing priorities and deadlines
- May require Light physical effort, including standing, sitting, and use of hands while performing duties, and carrying or lifting up to 50 pounds
- Working environment is indoor, moderately quiet, reasonably clean, well-lit, and well-ventilated; moderate physical hazards may exist
- US Citizen with an active DoD/DoW Secret clearance, with eligibility to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 – 4 years of industrial security experience
- 1 – 2 years of Special Access Program (SAP) security experience

Pay Range
Salary at SARA is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,000 to $90,000 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of SARA’s total compensation package for employees. Positions are on-site, unless indicated otherwise.
