We are looking for a Sourcing Agent to join our team. You’ll be part of a talented group that collaborates to deliver world-class products to our customers. In this role, you will be a key driver for the continued success of The Bernard Group and will be a crucial driver of sourcing excellence. You will succeed by driving total effort related to building a competitive advantage through vendor partnerships, manufacturing lane management, and quality sourced work. You will be responsible for outsourcing manufacturing with both our domestic and international suppliers and delivering comprehensive sourcing solutions to internal teams. In many cases the Sourcing Agent will act as an auxiliary Program/Project Manager.
Shift available: Monday through Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
A variety of these traits will help land you this job if you have:
- a Bachelor's degree in a related field
- a minimum of 5 years of experience working with suppliers - including supplier selection, supplier management, and negotiations. Experience with international suppliers is a plus.
- knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
- a strong background working cross functionally with multiple functions that drive business outcomes.
On top of that you must:
- obtain strong influencing/negotiation skills and change management experience with the ability to successfully manage complexity and multiple priorities
- have the ability to work independently to deliver results and influence stakeholders internally and externally
- possess superior interpersonal and presentation skills
- be self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency
- adhere strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- be a quick learner with interest in understanding and applying global supplier best practices
In this position you'll:
- work closely with vendors to understand capabilities, capacities, and proficiencies. Develops preferred vendor listing to communicate internally and advise TBG on vendor selection.
- solicit pricing from suppliers in support of various outsourced programs and works with vendor partners to ensure proper manufacturing processes are being used.
- negotiate pricing with suppliers; also ensures correct and necessary contracts are in place with preferred suppliers and assists in negotiation of master agreements.
- play an active role in resolving critical vendor quality and delivery issues that may arise during a project’s performance.
- provide vendor feedback based on vendor performance. Solicits feedback on vendor experience with TBG.
- utilize data to track and capture cost savings opportunities and actualized savings realized through sourcing activities.
- maintain/develop working knowledge of commonly outsourced services like metal, wood, acrylic, and print.
- build and maintain accurate Bill Of Material cost sheets that coincide with final pricing inputs into PACE.
- gain functional understanding of TBG’s PACE system and how to best incorporate our sourcing tasks into internal company channels
- work with PM’s to ensure the project results possible, including but not limited to helping on; PO Creation, Vendor communication follow up, packaging design and testing and Logistics management.
- perform miscellaneous projects and complete various tasks, as requested by Management.
