Accounting Supervisor

CFS has partnered with a national organization that has been in business for over 100 years. They are looking for an Accounting Supervisor to join their team. This person will ensure the financials are being maintained and produced in accordance with the company’s policies and accounting standards, oversee and provide direction, support and development to General Ledger accounting staff, work directly with audit teams, and streamline accounting processes.

Responsibilities:

Oversee all General Ledger activities and projects throughout the month.
Review monthly G/L reconciliations and analysis, verify accuracy of data, identify, report and correct any errors.
Responsible for the monthly closing process and accurate posting of all monthly activity.
Work with direct reports/counterparts to close all financial applications at the end of each month.
Issue all monthly preliminary and final financial reports.
Coordinate all monthly and year-end financial close activities, including assigned journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, and period-end accruals.
Act as lead contact during all year-end audits in the US and Canada.
Act as functional back-up for all compliance related activities.

Desired Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business accounting, or finance.
Previous Public Accounting experience preferred.
Strong Excel knowledge.
Experience with Oracle is a plus.

Location: This position is full-time onsite in Stamford, CT.
Compensation: This role is offering $115,000-$120,000 depending on experience.
