PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Material Handler / Saw Operator is responsible for handling, cutting, and preparing steel materials to support production operations in a safe and efficient manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties listed below are representative of the position and are not intended to be all-inclusive. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

More specifically, the individual will:

Handle and process steel materials according to production requirements.
Operate saw equipment to cut steel to specified dimensions.
Punch and drill holes in steel components as required.
Accurately read and use a tape measure to ensure proper measurements and cuts.
Utilize common shop tools safely and effectively.
Load and unload materials using a forklift.
Organize and stage materials for production use.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals.

EDUCATION – EXPERIENCE – COMPUTER SKILLS

High School Diploma/ GED.
Certificate or degree in welding preferred.
Welding knowledge through experience or vocational training.
Ability to pass a preliminary weld test.
1 – 2 years’ experience welding, cutting, and/or fabricating metal parts.
Experience in wire feed welding, MIG or TIG welding.

Knowledge of overhead crane and forklift operation.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee:

Must be able to frequently stoop/bend.
Must be able to regularly use hands and arms.
Must be able to regularly stand and walk.
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to work up to 15 feet off the ground, to work inside of bins on units, to climb ladders on occasion.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision.
