PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze existing data structures and configurations in acquired clinic systems.
- Design and implement ETL scripts to convert data into FHIR format for integration into the FHIR CDR.
- Develop and maintain a library of reusable conversion scripts for efficient future use.
- Explore and leverage vendor-mandated FHIR resources, including Bulk FHIR, to optimize data conversion processes.
- Work on integrating data from the FHIR CDR back into the main EHR for specific data sets.
- Load demographics, schedules, and other relevant data into the EHR and Practice Management (PM) systems.
- Design optimal methods for data loading and integration to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Oversee the FHIR CDR system's daily operations and ensure its optimal performance.
- Manage HL7 interfaces using tools like Mirth Connect and other integration platforms.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve integration-related issues in a timely manner.
- Build reusable conversion tools and processes to streamline future data integration projects.
- Continuously improve integration practices and recommend new technologies or methodologies.
- Collaborate closely with software developers, IT teams, and business analysts to align integration solutions with organizational goals.
- Provide technical support and guidance to team members and stakeholders.
- Document integration processes, conversion scripts, and system configurations comprehensively.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
EXPERIENCE:
- Proven experience (typically 3-5 years) in integration engineering, with a strong focus on FHIR, HL7, and ETL processes.
- Proficiency in SQL and ETL scripting.
- Strong understanding of HL7, FHIR standards, and data structures.
- Experience with integration tools such as Mirth Connect.
- Familiarity with invoking APIs and handling data formats like XML, JSON.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities with attention to detail. Capable of analyzing complex data structures and designing effective conversion processes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work well in cross-functional teams. Experience in managing complex integration projects.
- Experience with cloud-based integration solutions and services is preferred.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) is preferred.
- Certification in relevant integration technologies or platforms is preferred.
