Cleaning Specialist job description

Function: Disinfect all touch points of office, classroom, restroom, and common areas according to assigned job schedule within company policies and procedures. Respond to supervisor and customer requests.

Education: No requirements. Prefer ability to read and write.

Experience: None Required.

Skills (*Mark those areas determined essential job requirements before hiring.)

• Be able to work while wearing mask, gloves, goggles, booties and potentially a Tyvek suit*

• Operate and maintain various disinfecting tools to include a Victory Handheld or Backpack Sprayer, Byoplanet Sprayer, or similar advanced disinfection technology*

• Perform physical activity associated with general cleaning and disinfecting*

• Follow and complete a Job Schedule within the time frame allowed

• Understand and follow visual and/or verbal instructions and training*

• Use and handle chemicals and equipment safely and properly*

• Lift 25 pounds unassisted up and down a full flight of stairs*

• Assess a room and its’ contents, paying attention to high touch point surfaces*

• Must be adept at spraying and disinfecting without damaging assets or contents of room*

Scope: As an FBG representative, is responsible for ensuring we provide a clean, safe, healthy workplace for the customer and co-workers, perform tasks to the best of our ability and as trained, work as a team and communicate, know how to perform the three main cleaning specialist duties as well as disinfection responsibilities and self-inspect for quality. May have direct contact with customer.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities: Under the guidance and direction of the Supervisor, the Disinfection Specialist will:

1. Follow and practice proper use and care of chemicals, safety rules, communication, cleaning techniques, disinfection processes and equipment. Follow laws, regulations, and company and customer rules and practices concerning safety and other employees.

2. Always look for ways to improve methods and techniques without sacrificing safety and quality. Support the team. Show up for work as assigned without fail.

3. Use chemicals, supplies, or time properly without waste. Daily, clean and disinfect per assigned Job Schedule and as instructed by supervisor. Update and maintain the assigned Job Schedule current with supervisor approval.

4. Check in and out daily from your assigned site(s) as instructed. Do not sign in for others.

5. Clean and take care of equipment and janitorial closets in accounts. Let supervisor know if equipment needs repair or if supplies, equipment, or training is needed to do job properly. As a team member make sure everyone in the team is doing the job correctly. Actively help the Company do things better.

6. Make sure FBG, the customer, and the supervisor expectations are understood. Daily, self-inspect work for quality to ensure no callbacks, oversights, or defects.

7. Support and help fulfill FBG mission: to provide a clean, safe, and healthy environment for the customer.

8. Use the company’s mission, vision, values, and quality system to help guide you in carrying out your duties to FBG, making decisions, and dealing with co-workers and customers. Attend meetings and training as requested. Suggest improvements using the Corrective Action Request form (CAR).

9. From time to time perform other duties assigned by the Supervisor.

10. Regular attendance and punctuality are required and an essential function of this position.
