Description

The Multi Site Plant Controller is responsible for managing all accounting operations, including the maintenance of accounting principles, practices, and procedures for Alloy Engineering, Berea, OH and Mach3 located in Cuyahoga Falls. This role includes directing and planning the maintenance of fiscal records and preparing financial reports that summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas such as income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations. Additionally, they will oversee the plant-level financial functions, ensuring robust cost control, reporting, and planning processes within the manufacturing environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Plant-Level Financial Oversight:
- Enhance and manage plant accounting operations, ensuring that all financial activities align with corporate goals and manufacturing processes.
- Implement and monitor cost control procedures within the plant, focusing on the efficiency and profitability of plant operations.
- Oversee plant-specific financial reporting, including variance analysis, inventory management, and production cost reporting.
- Collaborate with plant management to provide financial insights that drive operational improvements and support decision-making.
Cost Accounting:
- Instill strong cost control practices within the plant, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting of production costs.
- Analyze plant financial performance, focusing on areas such as material costs, labor efficiency, and overhead allocation.
- Provide key analysis and insights to guide decision-making, challenging plant management to improve efficiency and profitability.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Coordinate the preparation of plant budgets and forecasts, aligning them with overall corporate objectives.
- Monitor plant financial performance against budgets, identifying areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
Inventory and Asset Management:
- Oversee the accurate tracking and reporting of inventory, including raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
- Manage the determination of depreciation rates for plant assets, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with corporate policies.
Audit and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all financial reporting and accounting standards at the plant level.
- Manage plant-level audits, both internal and external, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Maintain strong communication with plant management, providing financial guidance and support.
- Work closely with corporate finance to ensure alignment between plant-level and overall company financial strategies.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Minimum 10 years of accounting leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a plant or manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of financial operations, cost accounting, and manufacturing processes.
Experience in managing plant-level financial functions, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and inventory management.
ESOP experience preferred.
Communication: Outstanding oral and written communication skills; articulate and able to collaborate and relate to people at all levels of the organization.

Technology and Learning: Proficient with software including Microsoft Office, accounting, and payroll software. Experience using Visual Manufacturing software is a plus.
