THE ROLE
Performs the full array of duties related to the cleaning of assigned properties and performs other related duties as required.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, AND ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Performs cleaning of properties to ensure a clean and safe presentation and environment.
- Visually inspects properties for graffiti, posters, abandoned materials, damage, weeds, and any items requiring attention.
- Performs cleaning duties safely, correctly, and on-time.
- Reviews route book for re-schedules, starts, and service holds at the commencement of each shift. Completes daily route book, including start and stop time for each stop on route.
- Ensures all cleaning supplies are stored safely in appropriate areas after use.
- Maintains all equipment, including brooms, cleaning supplies, trash cans and company vehicle.
- Monitors security of buildings served and reports any security violations to supervisor.
- Reports the need for any major repairs or on-calls to supervisor.
- Assists other route crews as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is:
- One year of janitorial or similar experience.
- Principles and practices of job site safety, potential job hazards, and state and local regulations.
- High school diploma, GED preferred.
- Valid drivers’ license.
Skills and / or Ability to:
- Ability to promote the WASTE ZERO philosophy by making the best and highest use of all resources.
- Work under pressure, handle stressful situations and maintain flexibility.
- Ability to maintain high levels of activity or productivity; operating with effectiveness, and determination over extended periods of time.
- Ability to understand safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Consistently build knowledge and expertise about current job.
- Ability to communicate, orally and in writing, effectively with peers, supervisors and customers in person and over a two-way radio or similar device.
