Communications Specialist

Torch Technologies is seeking a Communications Specialist to join our team to design and edit communication for emails, brochures, newsletters, and other internal publications. Writes, copyedits, proofreads, and revises content as necessary, ensuring proper use of grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Works with appropriate departments and management to publish timely company information. Measures and presents results of communication efforts. Experience executing the creation, issuance, and delivery of marketing materials including press releases, website content, social media posts, graphics, exhibit properties, advertising, and promotional programs. Work samples will be required.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, or related discipline
2 years of direct experience
In-depth knowledge of social media platforms and best practices.
Must be proficient with writing in AP style.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word PowerPoint, Publisher, etc.
Excellent verbal communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Flexible and positive attitude in the face of challenges and ambiguity.
Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with individuals from a range of experience levels.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize important, competing tasks and information. Accountability for results and deadlines.
Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines.
Ability to take the initiative on customer support.
Self-starter that needs little direction/guidance on what next steps are required with projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong social media management experience and proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (e.g., Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) a plus.
Experience with document design and layout highly preferred.
Experience in the planning and execution of special events a plus.

Work Location: Onsite Torch facility – professional office environment

Travel: Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-state and overnight travel may be required. 0-10%
