Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Environmental Compliance Manager to join our Greenville, SC office. In this dual-role position, you will oversee general environmental and compliance projects in a variety of markets, including manufacturing, mining, public sector and real estate. You will manage current client relationships, develop new business opportunities, and provide senior-level direction on a range of environmental projects. As part of the Greenville Environmental Group you will manage and provide oversight for the compliance group, ensuring regulatory adherence and delivering cost-effective solutions to clients.
As a Project Manager in the Environmental Practice for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you’ll manage project teams tasked with preparing and reviewing permit applications (air, water, and solid waste related), compliance reports (TRI, Form R, RCRA, etc.), compliance plans (Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures [SPCC] Plans, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans [SWPPP], etc.], and conducting compliance audits. You’ll be directly responsible for developing proposals and project budgets, managing the technical staff, project financials, performing quality control duties, project-related administrative tasks, and driving business development efforts. In this role you will directly interact with clients, contractors, and federal/state government officials.
In addition, you will perform annual reviews with staff, including the establishment of development goals. You will mentor staff on client relations, business development, project management and technical skills.
- Demonstrates near expert-level understanding of regulations and can thoroughly communicate obligations and requirements to clients;
- Stays apprised of new and changing regulations and can effectively communicate this information internally and advise clients;
- Comprehends how new regulations and/or changes to existing regulations will impact client and various market sectors;
- Established clients/contacts in the Real Estate, Oil & Gas, Mining, and Manufacturing markets;
- Experience in scope of service and budget (proposal) development, and demonstrated ability to manage projects safely and profitably;
- Ability to problem solve in a professional setting;
- Participation in both client- and professional development-based organizations.
Qualifications
- 12-15 years’ experience; or a relevant combination of experience and education
- B.S./M.S. in Civil/Environmental/Chemical Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field;
- Professional licensure with registration in appropriate state(s) or ability to obtain.
