JOB SUMMARY

GCC seeks to add a Union Paving Foreman to our team of skilled and dedicated staff. The Paving Foreman plans, coordinates, and manages onsite paving crew (asphalt/blacktop) to meet the daily and weekly goals for maximum productivity while maintaining budgetary constraints. Solid communication and interpersonal skills, plus demonstrated ability to manage a team of varied disciplines. Can help with entry into union.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Oversee the progress of paving/road construction sites.
The intermediary between workers and supervisors.
Scheduling and planning the paving work for the day.
Assigning tasks to field employees.
Utilizing the correct machinery at the job site
Making sure the paving project is being completed in a timely matter.
Overseeing and implementing health and safety procedures on the job.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

3-5+ years of experience as a Paving Foreman. Knowledge of job sites, crews, heavy civil construction, and paving projects.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Pre-employment background screening investigation results that are acceptable to GCC at GCC’s sole discretion.

Reference and prior work verification.
Drug/alcohol test (negative test results).
Background/security clearance.
