Salary Range: $170,000 to $195,000 Annually. Salary will be dependent upon
experience.
The national Director of Community Design and Infrastructure is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing the Civil Engineering and Landscape Architecture Centers of Excellence. This individual drives business development efforts, ensuring the growth and expansion of our business lines into new geographies and practice areas. Key responsibilities include staff recruitment, development, and mentorship, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning, and working collaboratively with other groups to achieve project and organizational goals. Additionally, the Director manages projects ensuring all initiatives align with our strategic objectives and client expectations.
Essential Functions:
- Work collaboratively with other leaders in the firm to advance the goals of the strategic plan.
- Staff Leadership:
- Foster a people-centric culture that promotes personal and professional growth.
- Provide mentorship to junior staff both formally and informally encouraging professional development and continuous learning.
- Regularly meet with CD&I group directors focusing on collaboration, quality, development, alignment of goals, providing feedback and coaching, celebrating successes, and providing support to any challenges as needed.
- Facilitate regular periodic check-ins and annual reviews for direct reports.
- Business Development, Marketing, Expansion:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive revenue growth.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and potential clients.
- Leverage existing client relationships to build the CD&I pipeline and back log.
- Strategize and implement plans to enter new markets and geographies.
- Work with the marketing and communications team on proposals and client interviews.
- Client Management:
- Ensure client satisfaction through effective communication and delivery of projects.
- Function as the primary point of contact for major clients, addressing their needs and concerns.
- Foster long-term relationships with clients to encourage repeat business and referrals.
- Project Management:
- Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of projects.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Manage project teams, resources, and stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
- Complete Quality Assurance/Quality Control and make recommendations to improve processes.

- Outstanding client and personnel skills and the ability to persuasively communicate at all levels.
- Technical expert with outstanding team building, writing, proposal development, and program execution skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and with diverse teams.
- Organized and detail oriented with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, AutoCAD 3D.
- Ability, and willingness to travel to project/client sites and other offices.
- Serves as the technical specialist in the application of advanced concepts, principles, and methods in an assigned area.
Education and Experience:
- Undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited program in civil or environmental engineering or relevant field.
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive comprehensive engineering and leadership experience.
- Colorado Professional Engineering (PE) licensure or ability to obtain CO PE within one year.
- Proven track record of successful business development, client management, and staff leadership.
- Robust industry relationships and an understanding of municipal, state, and federal criteria.
- Significant experience and understanding of local, regional, state, and federal policies, programs, and procedures.
- Valid driver's license, in conjunction with successfully passing the Company’s MVR.
