We are currently looking for a Externship Manager to join our US Colleges team in the LA Area. The Externship Manager is responsible for delivering quality externship support to the US Colleges staff and students. This is accomplished by ensuring externship coordinators meet their monthly KPIs, which help students to successfully develop the technical and soft skills needed in order to begin and successfully finish required clinical hours at externship. The Externship Manager is also a subject matter expert for the campus and Company and will perform assigned administrative duties as determined by the Director of Education or Executive Director based on the size of the program and needs of campus.
Primary/Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assisting Director of Education with recruiting, training and developing new faculty for Externship.
- Develop training materials and daily metrics for externship coordinators to ensure productivity and student progress; expand training process for newly hired externship coordinators.
- Ensure new externship sites receive appropriate support for onboarding new externs through efforts including site visits, clarifying paperwork as required by CDPH.
- Managing externship coverage and externship coordinator assignments.
- Oversee externship related activities including site visits, externship evaluations, and other duties as assigned.
- The Externship Manager’s performance is measured by their team members meeting their student externship completion rates as set by the Director of Education, contributing to the program meeting its overall student completion objectives, and the feedback received through student satisfaction surveys.
- Complies with all Federal, State, accreditation and institutional policies and procedures.
- Develops relationships with students in the program to access students strengths and weaknesses and to match students’ skills with extern sites to meet extern completion rates.
- Develop and retain externship sites for all US Colleges locations.
- Successfully maintaining relationships with employers to ensure site development and extern completion accountabilities are met.
- Maintaining accurate and timely records of student participation in alternate lab, national exam, tutoring, taking and/ or rescheduling exam, program balance and progress as it relates to eligibility to schedule and attend externship.
- Assist with hands on/alternate session lab training of an assigned course(s) or program according to the IEC standardized curriculum and the course and program objectives.
- Conducting one on one student advisements to ensure the student is ready for externship.
- Communicating with Director of Education, Campus Registrars, Campus Coordinators, and Director of Admissions of any changes that will affect other departments.
- Able to work successfully with those of diverse backgrounds.
- Results orientated and competitive drive required.
- Ability to work accurately to coordinate and accomplish a variety of tasks.
- Proactively maintains a working knowledge of technical and procedural aspects and functions.
- Follows safety procedures; ethical standards and practice.

- Maintains confidentiality at all times.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Ensure available externship site capacity to extern ratio is maintained over 90%
- Regularly meeting or exceeding student extern completion rates
- Regularly meeting or exceeding student extern placement rates
- Positive feedback from student satisfaction surveys
Qualifications
- State CPT License
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills including both verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to successfully multitask with accuracy in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work with little supervision in and offsite lab settings
- Working knowledge of the technical and procedural aspects and functions
- Basic physiology, safety procedures, ethical standards and practice
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to drive in the United States
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret common technical journals and legal documents
- Ability to effectively present information to management and/ or public groups
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
