ASSISTANT DELI-BAKERY MANAGER

Summary
The Assistant Deli-Bakery Manager goes above and beyond to exceed expectations and ensure that all guests experience genuine customer service, great tasting food and leave with a smile. You will perform a multitude of job duties to support the operation our branded food concepts, Cold Deli and Bakery departments.
The Assistant Deli-Bakery Manager supports the Deli-Bakery Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the deli and bakery departments to ensure top-quality service, customer satisfaction, consistent product quality, and profitability. This role assists in managing a team, maintaining inventory levels, upholding food safety standards, and achieving department sales goals.
The Assistant Deli-Bakery Manager is willing and able to report to work and perform their job duties at any designated work location, including any Moser’s grocery store, based on business need.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Assist in coordinating the daily operations of the deli and bakery areas, ensuring that all food items are prepared and presented according to brand standards.
- Supervise and guide deli-bakery staff in the absence of the Deli-Bakery Manager, providing direction and support as needed.
- Monitor the work area to ensure it remains clean, organized, and compliant with food safety regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with questions, special orders, and product inquiries.
- Respond to and resolve customer complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Assist in managing inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, and stocking of products to ensure optimal freshness and availability.
- Track inventory usage and help with ordering supplies to minimize waste and maintain cost efficiency.
- Monitor and perform opening and closing duties as required.
- Work with the Deli-Bakery Manager to achieve department sales targets and profitability goals.
- Assist in implementing promotional programs and product displays that attract customer interest.
- Support the training and development of deli-bakery team members to ensure they understand product preparation, food safety protocols, and customer service standards.
- Ensure that all products meet company quality standards, including freshness, taste, and appearance.
- Oversee the preparation and packaging of deli and bakery items, ensuring products are correctly labeled and priced.
- Operate and optimize software to accurately track inventory, manage time and labor, track daily sales, production, and waste.
- Adhere to brand standards of all PFS branded concepts.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

- Able to perform basic math and financial literacy
- Demonstrate trained food safety knowledge
- Acquire ServSafe certification and county food handler’s cards if applicable
- Must be able to work full-time hours and a flexible schedule that includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays and report to work timely for each scheduled shift
- Possess basic Microsoft Word, Excel, and Teams knowledge
- Food service management experience is preferred
- Supervisory experience is preferred
- Able to work at various store locations
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work is performed in a grocery store deli-bakery environment
- Frequently work with high temperatures associated with the cooking equipment
- Regular exposure to cold temperatures while working in food coolers and freezers

- Lift/carry up to 10 pounds constantly, 20 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally
- Continuously stand and/or walk on hard floors to prepare and cook food, get stock items, and transport items to/from the kitchen, stock room, food prep area and front lines for extended periods
- Frequently push or pull trash cans, brooms, mops, and mop buckets
- Occasionally to frequently climb a foot stool or ladder to reach items located on shelves, in coolers, freezers, stockrooms, etc.
- Frequently stoop or squat to reach items on low shelves or on the floor
- Continuously reach overhead, forward, and underneath shelving, counters, tables, refrigeration units, racks, drink dispensers, and food service equipment
- Continuously communicate with and listen to customers, management, and other team members to ensure optimal performance
