Responsibilities
POSITION OVERVIEW
MTSI is seeking a software developer to support aircraft simulation development for a DOD customer at Wright-Patterson AFB. You will work with a team of software developers utilizing Agile and DevSecOps practices to develop products for experimental aircraft simulation in a virtual battlespace. You will work with other software developers, engineers, IT/IA/Security personnel, and PMs in-person at the customer’s facility at Wright-Patterson AFB.
Responsibilities
Duties to be independently executed include but are not limited to:
- Implement designs, write/compile/debug/maintain code, perform code reviews, and automate processes with proficiency.
- Lead software development efforts or portions of software development efforts.
- Troubleshoot technical issues in a complex environment.
- Work within a DevSecOps team, collaborating with other Developers, Security, and Operations to continuously deliver products and value for customers and other stakeholders.
- Embrace and follow DevSecOps and Agile practices.
- Work on multiple networks across various levels of classification, adhering to all Security policies, procedures, and processes.
- Effectively communicate with teammates, customers, and external stakeholders to present status/results, coach team members, collaborate with other teams, and document work.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other equivalent field.
- Must have at least a Secretl security clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance with SCI and SAP eligibility.
- 5+ years of experience in DevSecOps, DevOps, or general Software Development.
- Must have a high degree of proficiency in programming with C, C++, C#, and/or Java.
- Must have experience with collaboration tools including but not limited to: Confluence and/or Jira.
- Must know Git and one of the 3 suites: GitLab, GitHub, and/or Bitbucket.
- Must have a high degree of proficiency with an IDE such as Visual Studio or Eclipse and be capable of using them to their full extent.
- Must have an understanding of the basics of LINUX, network code, and secure code.
- Must have a demonstrated ability to use creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in anticipating and solving problems; apply competency in evolving, complicated situations.
- Must be a team player and be able to work within all levels of a project team.
- Must have excellent time management, organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
- Must have a demonstrated ability to own and complete complex tasks and shift from one task to another in a fast-paced, dynamic, and agile work environment.
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to clearly translate client technical needs and assimilate project information.
Desired Qualifications:
- A Top Secret security clearance with SCI and SAP eligibility is HIGHLY desired on day 1. Well qualified candidates possessing only a Secret clearance (with the ability to obtain a TS clearance with SCI and SAP eligibility) may be considered.
- Familiar with the DoD Enterprise DevSecOps policies/guidance (Reference Design, Playbook, Fundamentals, Guidebook, and Strategy Guide), https://dodcio.defense.gov/Library/
- Knowledge of military platforms, systems, and operations.
- Experience working on-site in a government client environment.
- Experience working the EAAGLES software development framework.
- Security+ or similar certification.
- AFSIM experience.
Security Clearance Level Required: Must have at least a Secret clearance to start, with the ability to obtain a TS with SCI and SAP eligibility.
