SCJ Studio Landscape Architecture is seeking an energetic and skilled landscape designer with professional office experience and a desire to create and support a wide variety of projects and project managers for various venues, from private homes to public spaces, in our Fremont, WA office.

What you’ll be doing

Collaborating on public and private sector projects in various locations across the West, including park master planning and parks and recreation design, sports field design, trail design and planning, private residential, and commercial/institutional projects.
Valuing relationships both within and outside of SCJ with solid communication. You will interact with and build professional relationships with clients, agencies, colleagues, and the public.
Originating and developing design concepts. We’re looking for someone with strong design and graphic skills who can express themselves in different formats and assist in developing construction documents, including full plan sets, and custom site details.
Understanding local regulations. You'll will have a working understanding for how to research regional and local land use code regulations and an ability to interpret city code language.
Working directly with our clients. All team members, regardless of experience, will have the opportunity to work with our clients. Depending on your experience, the collaboration will be supervised and at times you may be the single point of contact for SCJ.
Conducting site visits and observations. Along with the Project Manager and Office Principal, you will perform construction visits and observations, review shop drawings, submittals, and RFI’s, and participate in client meetings, public consultations, and presentations.
Collaborating with and supporting SCJ staff. Depending on your experience, you will help and collaborate on design, prepare and complete redlines, review and assist in developing site and landscape concepts and overall design.
Effective Management of Project Documentation. Ensuring project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.

What you bring

A passion for serving others, communication, creativity, and a commitment to high-quality work.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in landscape architecture from an accredited college or university.
State licensure, or the ability, desire, and existing qualifications to secure a landscape architecture license.
Willingness to conduct site visits of both current and prospective project locations and sites actively under construction in all types of weather, with varying site conditions.
Minimum of three or more years of experience in site planning, site design, and landscape.
Minimum three or more years of experience in a landscape architecture office setting, working on teams.
Experience and fluency with AutoCAD, LandFX, Adobe Creative Suite, and Sketchup, Lumion or Rhino, and/or Revit.
