Overview
Job Summary:
A Construction Estimating Assistant is responsible for assisting the estimating department with all facets of the bidding and prequalification process. They will work closely with the estimating team to ensure success within the department as it relates to all estimating assignments. The Estimating Assistant coordinates with estimators to provide the information needed to generate and submit bids and qualifications in a timely manner.

Responsibilities
Roles and Responsibilities:
Including but not limited to the list below.
- Develop a full understanding of company estimating policies and procedures.
- Develop a full understanding of previous company projects, scopes of work, and key personnel experience.
- Perform administrative tasks to support the estimating department.
- Create and update resumes for Key Personnel.
- Maintain Company Project List to keep as accurate as possible for prequalification.
- Update and maintain Bid Schedule.
- Request Bid Bonds.
- Attend Pre-Bid Meetings as requested.
- Prepare all prequalification documents which include, but are not limited to:
- Develop complete understanding of each Request for Qualifications Specification Document
- Thoroughly complete all required sections in the RFQ
- Create Cover, Title, and Binder Pages
- Organize each submittal according to specification.
- Maintain relationships with the estimators, ensuring clear communication on requirements and timelines for submission or required documents.
- Assist in completing Bid Documents.
- Deliver Bid Documents on time and ensure accuracy upon submission.
- Assist with accounts payable invoice data entry.
Qualifications
Skills and Qualifications:
- Understanding of estimating techniques and contract specifications.
- Excellent written and verbal (including technical) communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
- Effective presentation skills.
- Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously in varying sizes and capacities.
- Attention to detail and ability to recognize and correct discrepancies.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done.
- Ability to work in a team environment, as well as being able to work independently.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, etc.
- Willingness to learn new programs including Viewpoint Construction Software and Bid2Win.
Physical Requirments:
- Able and willing to work extended hours as needed, including working outside of normal hours to meet bid and prequalification deadlines.
- Able to work in outside environments being subjected to weather changes, noise, vibrations, and job hazards.
