JOB SUMMARY
The Project Manager manages the overall project direction, completion, and financial outcome for assigned projects within GCC’s Heavy Civil Structures Department, with a primary focus on bridge construction, structural concrete, and formwork operations.
The Project Manager is responsible for directing and mentoring on-site staff and coordinating off-site activities to ensure successful project delivery. This role requires strong business management acumen and leadership skills, as well as extensive knowledge of construction contracts, structural concrete construction methods, and bridge construction practices.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing projects involving bridge construction, structural concrete placement, formwork systems, and related heavy civil infrastructure components.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages and/or coordinates Company personnel and resources.
Oversees and assists the site safety manager.
Assists in estimating efforts related to bridge construction and structural concrete work.
Performs constructability reviews, including evaluation of formwork systems, concrete placement sequencing, structural components, and erection methods.
Prepares and executes Project Execution Plan.
Oversees project permit process.
Prepares subcontracts, purchase orders, and oversees procurement process.
Oversees cost control and change management systems.
Maintains relationships with clients, designers, consultants, and internal GCC clients.
Coordinates closely with field supervision to ensure proper formwork installation, reinforcing steel placement, and structural concrete operations.
Prepares initial master schedule and oversees updates, including scheduling of formwork cycles, structural concrete pours, and bridge component installation.
Compiles reports regarding financial performance of the project.
Prepares monthly client project status reports, as required.
Reviews and approves Trade Contractor Payment Applications with Superintendent.
Reviews GCC pay application to owner and ensures monthly submission when costs are incurred.
Attends and leads project meetings, including progress, pre-construction, and pre-award meetings.
Reviews inspection and test data for compliance with project specifications and structural requirements.
Develops and maintains site logistics plan in coordination with the Superintendent.
Sets up QA/QC procedures and conducts quality inspections.
Communicates and enforces Safety and Health Management Program.
Demonstrates commitment to an Injury-Free Environment through personal actions and mentoring others.
Oversees project close-out.
Serves as owner contact for post-construction matters, including warranty period.
Supports achievement of the company’s organizational goals and objectives by being cross trained and cross training others to increase knowledge and ability to perform different tasks.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent education and experience required.
5+ years of Heavy Civil construction experience required, with preference for experience managing bridge construction and structural concrete projects.
Experience managing projects involving bridge construction, formwork systems, structural concrete placement, reinforcing steel coordination, and related heavy civil structural components is highly preferred.
Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, standards, accounting, etc., plus an in-depth understanding of the interdependence and relationship between other functional units required.
Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc., and their impact on project activities is vital.
Demonstrated ability to manage a team of varied disciplines.
